WHAT IS AN EDITOR?

The most important part of this project is the people that represent the various Communities as Community Newsletter Editors. As a starting point we have concluded that small is good, and that we have most to contribute to a Community that has but a single Postal ZIPcode. More than that, and our services are not as special and valuable and consequently our essential CRAMES model is incomplete.

The responsibility that the Editors have is to listen and record the large and the small goings-on in the Community and to submit their news weekly for posting on the Community Website so that it can be enjoyed by everyone.

This Editors work is completed by folks that love their Community, and believe in the value and quality that is life in small town Nebraska.

In addition to the thanks, recognition and support from the Community itself Editor's may be eligible for a weekly stipend. In larger communities that have a Principal Sponsor for funding, Editors receive a small stipend to help with their weekly expenses. Regardless of the Communities size; Editors/Caretakers receive 5% Ad Revenue Share - Effective 7/1/2017 - Ads that are purchased on our 16 Community Websites will have 5% of the ad revenues set asside to help the Editors continue the work of creating the Weekly Community Newsletter. Stipend Payments are also made to Community Editors in Communities with a Principal Sponsor on the following schedule: Editor Stipends are Paid $25 per Approved Newsletter Due at 8:01am Central TIme each Tuesday Morning for posting on or before 6am each Wednesday morning.

Preferred submission would be Monday Afternoon so that changes or acceptance issues can be handled, corrected and re-submission can occur before the deadline. Stipends are Payable on Last Wednesday of the Month at the end of the day via Check. Unless arrangements are made to pick up the check, it will be mailed that evening. Arrangements can be made by calling 866-932-4774 to pick up a check in Louisville.

The Community Member Value Proposition  (Old & New):

Originally in 2000 the Community Member Value Proposition was: In exchange for a Revocable Charter we will create for you a permanent beautiful website, and a Weekly Newsletter - to help communicate the unique quality of life you enjoy, to help attract families and businesses to call your community their new forever home. In 2000 this was an amazing unique proposition and the network grew quickly. Since 2000 things like Facebook made access to the internet very common and expected, so we needed to enhance the Value Proposition - and effective 7/1/2017 the new offering was announced. Small rural communities have multiple opportunities to place content on the internet, but we are now providing an opportunity to monetize the internet - as an addition to the Bake Sales' the Fish Fries we are now providing the 5-5-5 program. Ad revenues from Community Websites are donated 5% to the Community, 5% to the Newsletter Editor that creates the Weekly Newsletter, and 5% to a Community Organization (VFD, Boosters, Churches, Food Banks) on an ongoing basis! As this new model grows we will need creative people to help us to be the best we can be! Interested? Contact us at This email address is being protected from spambots.
